A New Year

01-08-2013

Well, a new year is upon us, a week is already gone from the 52 that we have this year!  As I sit here and ponder NeighborLink, I am sometimes overwhelmed by the work that needs to be done but yet so thankful for the work that has been done already by NeighborLink volunteers in DeKalb County. We didn't start 2012 out too strong but we finished up great! I am so confident that the Lord will continue to be with us as we strive to meet the needs of those that live in the margins here in DeKalb County.

As we begin a new year, I imagine that many have made their new year's resolutions....many have maybe already gone by the wayside, as they so often do. I am hoping that this year, we, as a people of Christ, be  more aware and in tune to all the opportunities that He is going to be placing in our path and seek out ways to serve and to serve better this year. It doesn't have to be a new year resolution, just a "contract" between you and God; maybe for some it will be a way for you to reconnect to Him in a more meaningful way or maybe it will just be a way for you to increase your relationship with Him. When we step out in service, we are doing it for Him. We cannot do anything for ourselves to gain any favors with the Almighty but by doing good works, we, by faith, reach out to others so that He might be glorified and others might see Him through us.

I am excited for another year to serve! I am hoping that the momentum that we built up in 2012 keeps building and that we reach more and more people in their time of need. What a testimony to His faithfulness and what a message of hope we can take to those that are hurting.

I hope  this finds you seeking His will in your life and living it out as you begin another year living with our Lord.

May God bless you richly in 2013.

In His Service,

Jean
